By the end of the '90s, people are getting tired of the cold, technical sound of drum & bass. Clubbers want something fresh and festive to dance to. Influenced by the American garage scene, some producers start creating crossovers between breakbeats, house music, and R&B. They keep jungle's production techniques, slow down the tempo, and borrow the soulful elements of US Garage to create a whole new sound: UK Garage.
